New Delhi: After CNN-IBN exposed how donations are being collected to fund the Baba Ramdev's protest fast, his close associate Acharya Bal Krishna on Friday said that the fund collection is above board.
CNN-IBN had reported on Thursday how funds were being collected from followers through cheques. Funds are also being collected in camps being organised by the Patanjali Yog Peeth.
Baba's associates have also been collecting cheques for amounts ranging from Rs 1-11 lakh rupees. The video acquired by IBN 7 was shot in Delhi's Chandni Chowk.
The man at the helm of affairs in that video, Acharya Bal Krishna told CNN-IBN that there's nothing wrong in his fund collection drive and that it's all above board.
"This is no five-star satyagrah. We have accountability of the funds gathered," he said.
"Money collected is not from MNCs or corporates. We will give details of every penny
On the five-star treatment. Followers from all over the country are coming, we have to make them comfortable," he said.
"Talks with the government have moved forward, but no conclusive talks so far. Satyagrah will go as per plan, no matter what the results of the talks may be," he added.
