SANGRUR/BARNALA: Following the ideology adopted by yoga guru Swami Ramdev, his disciples have started a chain hunger strike at DC office. Before starting the hunger strike, the disciples apart from members of BJP, RSS carried out a march from Bagi Khana to DC office and called upon residents to support the cause. Yog Samiti, are sitting on hunger strike at Delhi' Ramlila Maidan along with the swami.
"More than 100 persons, including BJP activists, taking part in the march reached outside DC office on Saturday morning and started the chain hunger strike with 12 persons sitting on strike," said Patanjali Yog Samiti district president J K Malhotra.
Samiti patron Ram Niwas Sharma said these activists would sit on hunger strike for 24 hours and then another set of activists will replace them. BJP former district president Jatinder Kalra said, "BJP activists are supporting the cause wholeheartedly and would also take part in the agitation against corruption."
Malhotra said, "As baba has sounded bugle of Satyagraha for getting back the black money, stashed in foreign banks, it is the duty of every nation loving citizen to take part in this endeavour. Trust activists from Sangrur are also actively taking part in the fight against corruption."
On the other hand dozens of Swabhiman Trust members also started protest at Barnala' ShaheedBhagat Singh Chowk to support the cause.
