Cong biggest thug of them all: Mulayam

The Samajbadi Party (SP) on Sunday said the police action against Baba Ramdev and his supporters showed that the "central government has lost its mental balance". He likened the crackdown to the emergency which was imposed by the Indira Gandhi government in 1975.

"The way in which police

brutally dealt with peaceful hungerstrike by Baba Ramdev and his supporters, including women and children, shows that the UPA government is afraid of him. It's an act against democracy...it seems that the central government has lost is mental balance," SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav told reporters here.

In an obvious reference to AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh, the SP chief said, "The Congress is the biggest thug of them all and the party high command should teach some manners and etiquette to party leaders. Leaders who are calling Baba Ramdev a thug should do some introspection as to why the Congress lost elections in Madhya Pradesh after ruling for 10 consecutive years", adding that "if the Baba is a thug, why is the Congress getting so unnerved?".
