BJP, VHP and RSS voice support for Ramdev

ven though yoga guru Baba Ramdev has been saying that his fast against corruption is not a political movement, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have come forward in support of his fast against corruption. The RSS has issued notices to its state units to support Baba Ramdev's indefinite fast.


VHP President Ashok Singhal is present at the venue. Former VHP leader Sadhvi Ritambara also shared the stage with him.

SAYED ALIPUR (MAHENDRAGARH): Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's native village in Harayana'sMahendragarh district wore a desolate look a day ahead of his fast in New Delhi. Streets were empty, and sporadic peacocks' call shattered the silence.

Late in the afternoon a cab, fitted with an overhead loudspeakers, gave a sense of Saturday's elaborate arrangement in the National Capital, about 150km from here. An announcement about Baba Ramdev's much-publicized satyagraha against graft at Delhi'sRamlila Maidan was a token reminder about the event.

नई दिल्ली। भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ बाबा रामदेव का अनशन में संघ भी शामिल हो गया है। अब से थोड़ी देर पहले संघ की नेता ऋताभंरा भी मंच पर आयी और कहा कि हम देश के लिए लड़ी जा रही इस लड़ाई में बाबा के साथ है। संघ ने कहा है कि बाबा अपनी लड़ाई दिल्ली से लड़ेगें लेकिन हम उनके पक्ष में पूरे देश में उनके संचार को लोगों तक पहुंचायेगे। भाजपा ने पहले से ही बाबा का साथ देने को कहा है।

Bhojpuri superstar Manoj Tiwari was the first celebrity to reach Ramlila Maidan - the site of Baba Ramdev's hunger strike - on Saturday where he sang bhajans and patriotic songs along with thousands of supporters of the yoga guru. The popular singer-actor claimed that he had told his producer that he will not shoot for a month from June 4 as he wanted to join Baba Ramdev in his campaign against black money.

Tiwari said that he had informed his producer in advance that he may have to bear loss as the actor wanted to join Ramdev.

Haryana khaps to join Ramdev fast

CHANDIGARH: Haryana's infamous khap leaders has decided to pitch for Baba Ramdev in Delhi on Saturday with a large number of supporters. 

Khap leader Om Parkash Dhankhar, who is coordinating with other khap leaders of Haryana to mobilize support for the yoga gura, on Friday claimed that more than 50,000 people from the state would participate in the indefinite hunger strike called by Baba Ramdev to press for his demand to bring back black money stashed in tax havens abroad.
